THE OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE – BOHOL Diving

Here it is! The most popular dive certification in the world. The Open Water Scuba Diver Certification. Ready to jump into the deep end? (ha, good one I know, I just high-fived myself for you)

The Open Water Diver Certification allows you to dive at a max depth of 18 meters anywhere in the world. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll never have to learn skills in a pool or read long academic materials again. Next time you want to go diving, you simply show up, tell them how cool you are, and go for a fun dive. Sounds great right?

In the Open Water Diver Course with Go Bohol Diving, you’ll go over the principles behind the diving, you’ll learn how to use your equipment safely and you’ll learn new skills in the pool. Once you’ve perfected those, you’ll head to the open water and see your new skills in action. Handy things like clearing your mask, helping a buddy in need or just how to look really cool when you wave at the camera.

And all of this happens with your amazing, friendly and energetic instructor. We want the course to be fun, because you’re on holiday after all.

During the course, you’ll have full contact with your instructor for any questions or problems even if you just want to know how many drinks is too many once you’ve completed the course. The answer is 10? Maybe? (The lawyers have asked us to put a note here stating that we are in no way recommending or pushing drinking after you have completed your course and blah blah blah…..they said some other stuff, but I fell asleep)

Typical Schedule

DAY ONE: Intro to your equipment and your new mermaid buddies (that’s your classmates) You’ll learn about the components that make up your dive gear and the role they play. Once your brain is loaded with some information, we are going to get you into the pool and start putting even more information in there, hope you like coffee.

You’ll start learning and practicing some new underwater skills and learning the crazy art of breathing underwater (it’s almost magic).

In-between there will be time for lunch and chit-chat if you know some good jokes or have some interesting stories.

Once the day is done, it’s time to rest your brain and body. Tomorrow we get out into the open water.

DAY TWO: We start the day with some important academics in the classroom. But don’t worry, we will make it fun. Did anyone say ‘white-board!?!’ No? No one..?

After a nice lunch break, we will walk straight onto the beach where our boat is waiting to take you out. We will start with a nice shallow dive where you will probably spend the first few minutes thinking what on earth is going on and how does this even make sense.

Once that time has passed, you’ll start to get into your own groove. You’ll find it easier to breathe through your regulator, you’ll see how your buoyancy works (fancy word for floating), you’ll notice some wicked fish swim past, and you’ll start to become a part of the underwater world.

After a nice snack break on the boat, we do it all over again. You’re going to be so much more comfortable this time and so we will practice some of those skills you perfected in the pool. Now is your time to shine!

In-between skills, you’ll get to see some beautiful new things and you’ll even start to enjoy them more and more as you become comfortable with this new superpower of yours.

The day is done and you’ll want to rest! Good luck trying to stay awake after dinner. One more to go!

DAY THREE: A little bit of classroom time going over some final details as well as a little multiple-choice exam (we want to see if you actually did read the material after-all.)

Today, you’ll go a little bit deeper reaching your maximum depth of 18 meters. But it’ll be easy and everything will come together as you see your confidence build. You’ll become one with the fish!

And that’s it. Two dive on Day 3 with some final skills and you are done!

End the day with a celebratory drink (or three) because you just passed on your SSI Open Water Dive Course! WELL DONE!

Frequently Asked Questions

We are awesome, that's why! No but in all seriousness, it's because we love what we do. Every dive school we work with has been personally checked by our team. That means we know the team, we know the managers who run the show and we've also personally been diving with them.

By having access to multiple dive schools we can help meet everyone's need when it comes to things such as language requirements, certification agency choice and more options for dive sites. Availability becomes easier which means if you name a date, there is a greater chance that we will get you the one that works for you.

Not at all! We don't add extra charges to our prices. We get paid by the dive centers we send you to and we only work with the best. We have no hidden fees at all. Marine park fees and any extra charges are always included in the price so you have no surprises.

If you're nice, of course. We have pre-booking offers if you are a group of 5 or more so reach out and let's see what we can work out.

Fantastic! Simply click the little contact us widget on the bottom of your screen and you can use your favourite app (ie. WhatsApp) to reach us and we can get you setup. Or click to send us an email the old fashioned way. We will always get back to you within a day. You can also click the little Book button up top and fill out the request form.
